How to pay for the bus

A city bus ride in Batumi costs 70 tetri (0.70 ₾). You pay on the bus itself — with a bank card or with a Batumi Card.

1. The fare on every official city route is 70 tetri (0.70 ₾). For intercity routes, ask the driver about the price.
2. The simplest way is a local bank card, right on the bus. Some banks add a fee of their own on top of the fare.
3. The other way is the Batumi Card, the city transport card. It is sold at the till in the Willmart supermarket, the card itself costs 2 ₾, and you top it up afterwards.
4. Those are the two ways to pay, so sort your card out before the trip.
